Flagstaff, AZ - April 28, 2005

PV Powered of Bend, Oregon, along with Sun Power Corporation (CA), Perfect Power (AZ) and The Good Power Company (AZ) announced today the completed installation of a 2000W photovoltaic (PV) system on the Piestewa Family home in Flagstaff, AZ. The ABC Television Network selected PV Powered to coordinate the installation of a solar electric system on the Piestewa home for the 2 hour season finale episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE), which airs Sunday, May 22 from 7-9PM ET. Working on an extremely tight timeline, PV Powered and Shea Homes (builder) gathered a team of industry experts to design, commission, gather permits, and install a grid-tie solar electric system using the highest performing equipment on the market.

The deserving new homeowners, the Piestewa Family, consist of the surviving parents and children of Army Special Lori Piestewa. Lori was killed on March 23, 2003 during an ambush on her Army unit near the Iraqi city of Nasiriyah. An outpouring of charity from over 1000 trade members and countless equipment suppliers resulted in the construction of a 4336 square foot home in less than seven days. Lori's parents will now be able to raise her children, ages 5 and 6, in a beautiful home with all the amenities of modern day.

As an added bonus, Southwest Windpower installed a 1kW wind turbine to augment the home's PV system. With an abundance of sunshine and wind available in Flagstaff, the home will receive 65-75% of its energy needs through clean, green renewable sources, and the Piestewa's will see a significant decrease in energy costs.

"The whole process was amazing to witness from start to finish," exclaims Bill Taylor, President of PV Powered. "The Piestewas now have a wonderful place to raise Lori's children and an unlimited supply of cost-effective, green energy. PV Powered is truly honored to be chosen to participate in this Extreme Makeover Home Edition project."

Headquartered in Bend, Oregon, PV Powered designs, manufactures and markets utility interactive photovoltaic inverters for the renewable energy marketplace. With operations located across four states, PV Powered brings together one of the most experienced design teams in power electronics.
